George Cecil Wilmshurst (1873-1930) portrait painter and illustrator, active 1897-1917 born in Walton-on-the-Naze; Royal Academy Schools student from 25 July 1893 to July 1898. He worked in London from 136 Camden Road, and contributed pen and ink drawings to magazines. Exhibited RA. Ink and charcoal, image size: 65 cm high x 42cm.

John Alfred Haggis (1897-1968), Portrait, landscape and figure painter in oil and watercolour. Born in London, Haggis studied art in Australia and at the Royal College of Art under Malcolm Osborne. He showed widely, including Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool; the Royal Academy; Royal Cambrian Academy, Birmingham City Art Gallery, Royal Institute of Oil Painters; Royal Scottish Academy. Portrait of a Man with Glasses
William Dring (1904-1990) studied at the Slade School of Fine Art between 1922 and 1925, where he won several prizes and scholarships. He taught drawing and painting at the Southampton School of Art until 1942. He was a frequent exhibitor at the Royal Watercolour Society and at the Royal Academy. Pencil signed and dated 1928. William Bingham McGuinness RHA (1849 – 1928) Born in Dublin, William Bingham McGuinness was a landscape painter who began his career as an architect, exhibiting his drawings and designs at the RHA and the Royal Academy in London. Old Caen Calvados Normandy
Paul Marny (1829–1914) Charles Paul Marny, his real name was Charles Paul Godard, who was born in Paris about 1829. A porcelain decorator for the Sèvres factory before moving to Belfast to work with a French architect where he may have assumed the Irish name of Marny. In 1860, he was persuaded by photographer Olivier Francois Xavier Sarony (c.1820-1879) to move to Scarborough where he taught Albert Strange (1855-1917) and many other Scarborough artists and visited France from time to time, but remained living in Scarborough. His famous painting 'Scarborough from White Nabb' is in Scarborough Art Gallery and other works are in galleries in Birkenhead, Lincoln, Scarborough and Whitby. Watercolour signed and dated 1885. Balintore (Scotland)
William Collingwood Smith RWS (10 December 1815 Greenwich – 15 March 1887 Brixton Hill), was a British watercolourist. His first exhibition at the Royal Academy was in 1836 and his last in 1855, also exhibiting with the Royal Watercolour Society and at the Suffolk Street Galleries. James Hayllar (1829–1920) was born in Chichester in Sussex (now West Sussex), and received his training in art at Cary's Art Academy in London; he painted Cary's portrait in 1851. He went on to study at the Royal Academy. He was a regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy and also showed work at the British Institution and the Royal Society of British Artists. Landscape with Cottages
Richard Sass (1774 – 7 September 1849) was an English landscape painter, etcher, and drawing master to royalty. He was the half-brother of Henry Sass, the founder of Sass's Academy in London.
Sass exhibited at the Royal Academy in London from 1791 to 1813. He was appointed teacher in drawing to the Princess Charlotte, and later landscape painter to the Prince Regent. In 1825 he removed to Paris, where he spent the remainder of his life, altering his surname to "Sasse. Watercolour, signed, image size 13 cm high x 18 cm.

David Cox (1783 –1859) Cox was born on 29 April 1783 in Deritend, Birmingham, the son of a blacksmith, who went on to become one of the most important figures in British Art during the so-called Golden Age of watercolour painting. Samuel Prout (17 September 1783 – 10 February 1852) was one of the masters of British watercolour architectural painting. Lady Mary Ann (or Marianne) (1778-1842) Mordaunt, nee Holbech. Lady Mordaunt was the daughter of William Holbech of Farnborough (Warwickshire) and married Sir Charles Mordaunt, Bt, in 1807. She was clearly an accomplished amateur artist with some of her works being in the Royal Collection Trust and the British Museum. Lady Mordaunt travelled widely across the continent based on a Sotheby's sale in 1948 that included views of Switzerland, the Tyrol and Northern Italy. Watercolour dated 1844. Martin Hardie (1875 - 1952) was elected to Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colors and Honorary Secretary of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers. He was also awarded the prestigious C.B.E. for his contribution to British art. Thomas Barker of Bath (1769-1847) Primarily a landscape painter, Barker's style draws parallels with his better-known contemporary Thomas Gainsborough. Australian Dingo's
Ernest Henry Griset (1844 – 1907) Illustrator and comic draughtsman of animals. He was born at Boulogne-sur-Mer in 1844, and studied under Louis Gallait, presumably in Brussels. The latter had strong links with England and it may have been through him that Griset came to London in the mid 1860's. Although intending to become a serious watercolourist, he took delight in drawing animals and people and showing their basic similarities, not in caricature, but in behaviour. Exhibited in the Royal Society of British Artists in 1871-72 in Suffolk Street. He has collections in the British Museum and the Victorian and Albert Museum's. Edmund Morison Wimperis (6 February 1835, in Flocker's Brook, Chester – 25 December 1900, in Southbourne, Christchurch, Hampshire), was a British wood-engraver and watercolourist and member of the Arts Club. When aged about 38 he became a professional landscape watercolourist and member of the Society of British Artists. In 1874, he joined the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours, and went on to become one of its foremost members, being elected vice-president in 1895. Michael Angelo Rooker ARA (1746 or 1743 – 3 March 1801) (Attributed) .He exhibited at the Society of Artists, and at the Royal Academy. He was admired by J. M. W. Turner who learnt an aspect of painting technique called "colour scaling" by copying Rooker's "Gatehouse at Battle Abbey", and purchased over a dozen of Rooker's paintings after his death. George Barret Jr. (1767–1842), sometimes referred to as George Barret the Younger, was an English landscape painter, and a son of the Irish artist George Barret Sr.
Almost certainly taught by his father, he exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1800 to 1803. He was an early member of the Society of Painters in Water Colours when it was founded in 1804, and exhibited prolifically, never missing an exhibition for 38 years. Thomas Girtin (18 February 1775 – 9 November 1802) was an English watercolourist and etcher. A friend and rival of J. M. W. Turner, Girtin played a key role in establishing watercolour as a reputable art form.
